I currently have my move speed set to 1, obviously when moving diagonally this results in a speed greater than 1 (2? I believe). I have no idea how to keep it constantly moving at 1 when going diagonally and not receiving any negative side affects such as the sprite juddering along due to the object not moving at 1 on the x and y.
I either, need to find a way to avoid this judder and keep doing it how I'm doing it (by halving the move speed when the player is moving diagonally) or a way to scale everything up so I can have the movement speed default to 2, allowing me to use the current method with no negative affects.
My Player is 32x32 and the room/view size is 960x540. How would (if its a decent solution) I go about scaling everything up without distorting any sprites and retaining the games look?
I've looked around for solutions and most that are solved don't appear to be moving at a default speed of 1. Any ideas?
