iOS Crash: The Carbon driver has not been ported to 64bits

    Hi ,
    I can't run my app because every time I have a crash. Is it possible to run mono in 32 bit mode?

    Hi Volada2, did you get this issue sorted?

    I'm having a similar issue. I am using Mono 4.8.0.520 running in 32 bit mode by default when I try to build Android, but I'm getting an error. I tried a newer version of Mono which defaults to 64 bit and got the same error as the above.

    Russel, is Mono 4.8.0 supposed to run in 32 or 64 bit mode?

    Mono 4.8.0 defaults to 32bit mode - if you use a newer version of mono it will default to 64bit but the dialog will not show correctly for errors (this is the reason we have not updated the mono version just yet) we are looking to fix the use of the dialog on errors... then we will be moving to the newer versions of mono.

    We do not support use of mono above 4.8.0 as errors will not be correctly reported... this will be fixed.

    I installed Mono 4.8.0.520. I still have a crash mono. I get a crash when I use YYC output. VM output is ok.
    Should I use VM output?

    Hey Volada2, I get exactly the same error with mono 4.8.0.520 :( It's driving me crazy! I can't build YYC either.

    I would give anything to get this fixed. If you find a solution PLEASE, please, please let me know :) I have filed a bug report about this with YYG, but I've been waiting about 7 weeks and my ticket is still open with no response :(

    Whats happening with this? I have the same issue on MAC (just running it on Mac)...

    Problem started when I added an ini file and then added commands for window/fullscreen. told me that it did not support 64bit,

    WARNING: The Carbon driver has not been ported to 64bits, and very few parts of Windows.Forms will work properly, or at all

    then installed the specified mono as mentioned above, then started getting an old report crash dialog box, updated to the latest mono, now just crashing mono...

    So cannot build anything right now....

    Installing the recommended Mono - get :

    Not to misdirect the original post, but I've found the issue in my game... its because of adding an ini file. Cannot see why that would be a problem.

    Anyone know why adding an ini file (UTF8) into included files on the Mac would cause a crash window to appear, and failure of mono?

    I am getting this error with the Mac IDE, compiling for iOS 11.4.1. I updated Mono to a newer version recently, because the old version cannot handle large projects. But it was working last week. However, I just updated to XCode 9.4.1 and iOS 11.4.1 and now this error. Anyone know how to fix it?
