Correctly setting rooms

Hello, I'm slowly getting into this, but I'm concerned about rooms in general.
I've watched some education YT videos and did some tutorial games but I'm still unsure how I should properly set my room width and height values.

First of all, I'm not using any camera system (my room is static), so I assigned width and height equal to my screen resolution.

Do you think that's alright? Will it stretch / shrink for larger / smaller screens?

Thanks everyone for your comments, I really appreciate it.

If you aren't just messing around and not doing anything fancy just keep it smaller than your screen resolution to keep it on screen. As you learn more you will want to learn about scaling cameras and views to just show the part of a level that you want to see.
