I’m a Mac guy so I can’t test it. But menu system and effects are great.


Player is good but the jumping /flying cat seems off. Seems stiff or something. Hard to describe. Just doesn’t look quite right.

Really good stuff. Well done.

You mean the hookjump, airdash or just the jump?

I like the game and the character but it could look better, sorry it sounds harsh but I'm being honest, and its gonna help in the long run lol!
The game, style and character is really good! But you could make the game itself better
I think its the graphics, they need more animation
I dont wanna sound negative in any way and if you want any help or advice, you can message me : )
I dunno, I can see its retro, and I only like retro games really, but I can see some ways which you could improve it

The game keeps going and details are being added.

We have reached the point where a Controller is needed to play the game.
You can still use the keyboard, but you will find it more difficult to play with.

Indeed 2 years of development.
Most of the game mechanics are being polished by now along with the enemies and cutscenes.

Just played your game, some thoughts on it...

+ did you made the music? it's very good!!
+ I was expecting a heavier game! but at 18mb is very lightweight!! how?!?
+ sounds at the menu are high
+ I would appreciate a different sprite for the second jump!
+ How do I know how to use each ability? (without looking at the guide)
+ The mechanics reminds me of Sonic: hard to control, very fast moving...
+ how do i recharge life?
+ can you save game? I got to level 3 and lost =P haha

  • Was commissioned, some other are placeholders
  • So little music in game I guess?
  • Working on those
  • Its on the todo list, don't worry :p
  • They aren't listed yet, but you mix the movement with the attack keys (sword mode)
  • if you played the version with a shadow following the player, that's an unlocked feature! Might be locked in the next one.
  • Life cannot be restored yet. you can lose a live and restore life instead.
  • Something is planned, might be released in early access.

Visual Weapons are now animated
Damage animation has been updated
Wall sprint animation has been updated
Power up has been updated to use with MACH 2
Character graphics were updated, adding small details and new animations.

Added beta bridges
Added Spin jump
Added Plasma Rain
Added more skills in the menu
Added Crystal Shield/Charge to RT/R2/Space key
Added Manual Aim to LT/L2/Space key

Dashing bugs were fixed
Movement keys were rearranged to work properly
Lag caused by controller detection has been fixed

Some music was removed as it wasn't original.
Implemented new music for the game.
Removed the Mech temporarily

This demo was meant to stay private, due to popular vote, it has been decided to be put on public.

I enjoy the game. It reminded of a Gameboy game but with complex moves and attacks!

I think the character movement is a bit finicky at times though..but you guys did great!

yeah it's a bit messed up, I am gonna fix that.

Thank you! I noticed too, might try and make the movement more comfortable and less slippery.

Update!
Fullscreen mode has a background image, note that the in-game resolution is modified to fit the screen.

Wall climbing has been implemented as an innate skill, useful for new players who slip the borders or won't notice the cliff, hold the movement key/stick and press jump to climb!

I just finally realised what had been bugging me a tiny bit about your animations. Your run animation, the head stays in the the exact same position! The head and body should usually move a bit more.
That said the animation still looks nice and smooth so this was just an observation not a criticism.

Oh it rarely moves by a few frames, back in the days when I tried to make fangames, I was told that some chars char kept its head in the same position with a few angle changes, something that I haven't been able to do with the angles yet. I noticed some consistency as it eas either the the feet or head the base position.

I guess I kept that as a standard for myself since then.

BACKUPS!

Backup your working drives.
Backup to external disks.
Backup to online services.
Use version control (https://github.com + git is now free for private repositories).

Hope you can get some stuff back..
