I’m a Mac guy so I can’t test it. But menu system and effects are great.
Player is good but the jumping /flying cat seems off. Seems stiff or something. Hard to describe. Just doesn’t look quite right.

We were given the task to do dynamic enemies...
So... We decided to use the character as placeholder... it wasn't a bad idea.

I like the game and the character but it could look better, sorry it sounds harsh but I'm being honest, and its gonna help in the long run lol!
The game, style and character is really good! But you could make the game itself better
I think its the graphics, they need more animation

I dunno, I can see its retro, and I only like retro games really, but I can see some ways which you could improve it

You can still use the keyboard, but you will find it more difficult to play with.

Most of the game mechanics are being polished by now along with the enemies and cutscenes.
Just played your game, some thoughts on it...
+ did you made the music? it's very good!!
+ I was expecting a heavier game! but at 18mb is very lightweight!! how?!?
+ sounds at the menu are high
+ I would appreciate a different sprite for the second jump!
+ How do I know how to use each ability? (without looking at the guide)
+ The mechanics reminds me of Sonic: hard to control, very fast moving...
+ how do i recharge life?
+ can you save game? I got to level 3 and lost =P haha

They aren't listed yet, but you mix the movement with the attack keys (sword mode)
if you played the version with a shadow following the player, that's an unlocked feature! Might be locked in the next one.
Life cannot be restored yet. you can lose a live and restore life instead.
Something is planned, might be released in early access.

Interesting! Is it me or the red bouncing ball doesn't work with perfect collisions? I mean, based on that last gif.

I enjoy the game. It reminded of a Gameboy game but with complex moves and attacks!
I think the character movement is a bit finicky at times though..but you guys did great!

Thank you! I noticed too, might try and make the movement more comfortable and less slippery.
Fullscreen mode has a background image, note that the in-game resolution is modified to fit the screen.
Wall climbing has been implemented as an innate skill, useful for new players who slip the borders or won't notice the cliff, hold the movement key/stick and press jump to climb!
Air dash has been implemented with 3 directions, so you can earn height or descend as you use it.
Bottom slash is in the works, it works with most enemies.
Water is being implemented into the game along with the lighting system, these new features might take a while to be released on the next version.
The water has been fully implemented.
You can dive for like 3 seconds and move into any direction, wall rising is coming up next, along with dialogue system.
this looks awesome, kinda like a 2d lords of shadow
I recognize at least one background and tileset as free art assets.
Sorry for the late reply. Hello, yes, I can confirm one of those are found available for free, it was part of a test and not available in game.
