GML Collision Issues

    How do i fix my collision issues? (Sorry for crappy background art, its just a placeholder for now)

    Which collision issues ?
    Post your collision code of your player with the respective colliding objects.

    Those boxes are just empty space. What you need to do is adjust the Collision mask manually.

    Following on from the comment above, here's exactly how to do it.
    Inside the sprite properties dialog, click on Modify Mask, and then select Manual for Bounding Box, and draw a box around the sprite which will be the new collision mask. Do this for both of your sprites, and the collisions should be much tighter.
