Hi, so i was wondering is there any legal issue if i decide to use the original chess moves and figures in a game that im planning to sell?

No, the copyright of chess expired over a millennium ago... it's in the public domain now. Just don't steal chess graphics from a copyrighted source.

EDIT: You might also be interested in "chinese chess" and "japanese chess" for rule inspiration, btw. They're related to chess and play similarly, but have slightly different rulesets. The Chinese version has more variety in pieces (including restricting some to only move in a limited area of the board) for more tactical considerations, and the Japanese version lets players capture enemy pieces to add to their own army, making interesting reversals possible.
