Legacy GM Change Default Sprite Background?

I'm having an issue where GMS1 converting transparency into green when loading a GIF from a file is causing me issues with removing the background on sprites that use a lot of green in themselves like grass

Is there a way to change this behavior?

Open up a sprite, click edit, then under the drop down menu 'Edit' Select change transparency background.
I'm sure by default it isn't green though, didn't you change it to green yourself ?
