This is my first time creating an android app and I believe I have followed the SDK, NDK, JDK setup tutorial thoroughly so I don't believe that to be the problem. Any help would be immensely appreciated :D

We would need to see the entire compile log, generally on Android the log gives you the error assuming you've made it to ADB.

If you can paste it within a spoiler tag or on a pastebin then that'd be helpful.

This seems like you're unable to open the Gradle zip which can be found in C:\Users\Matt Snyder\.gradle\wrapper\dists\gradle-3.1-bin\37qejo6a26ua35lyn7h1u9v2n\gradle-3.1-bin.zip, if you go into your users directory and delete the .gradle folder then try build again this will obtain Gradle again.

Unsure whether this will fix your issue as I've never seen this exception before, you might also want to try building something in Android Studio and seeing if that works as that will use the same Gradle zip.
