Mac OSX Can't install latest GMS 2 version

Hi,

This is driving me crazy. The latest update will not install on my MAC. I've tried using the installer from the login download page and using the download button in GMS 2 itself. I have noticed that sometimes I get no copyright message, sometimes I get broken XML looking code (2nd window of installer). No matter, how I do it, on the last screen it gets the error "Installation failed, contact the manufacturer". What's going on?

The old installer GameMakerStudio2-2.1.3.273 works perfectly. I've uninstalled and re-installed numerous times and that one gets no errors. However, I can't use it as the latest update in mandatory which prevents me opening the older version.

Any ideas on how to resolve this? I've tried removing it to ensure its a fresh install.
