Windows Can't copy subimage to clipboard

I just recently picked up GMS:2 and I use an external editor for sprites. One frustration I am experiencing is a seeming inability to copy sprites to the Windows clipboard, to then move them to my external editor. I've tried copying the actual subimage (Right-click frame, copy), and the pixel data in the editor (Ctrl+C with a selection).
Neither seem to actually use the Windows clipboard.

I could get around this by exporting to a PNG or something, but I need to move sprite data back and forth more commonly. This was doable by just copying in Studio 1 and all past GM iterations.

Any way around this?

I'm afraid not. This is a limitation of the current iteration of the sprite editor. Feel free to file a bug report about it as it's something that annoys me too... the more people report it, the more likely that YYG will try to fix it. ;)
