I had a very busy weekend, but I managed to get some new fantasy textures done:

First up, some seamless bumpy stone textures that look like they could be covered with moss, algae or maybe lichens. These might look cool for pathways. They are here:

TXR – GROUND
https://soundimage.org/txr-ground/

Here are some cool stained glass textures that might look nice for windows of churches or other fantasy structures…maybe for RPGs. They are here:

TXR – GLASS
https://soundimage.org/txr-glass/

New music tracks will be coming out later in the week.

Enjoy!

Hey guys,

More experiments with various game art styles. I’ve got some pixel art-style map templates here:

ART- MAP TEMPLATES
https://soundimage.org/art-map-templates/

You’ll need to scroll down to the bottom of the page.

It was suggested to me that they might also be useful as backgrounds. Feel free to edit and modify as needed.

Btw, if anyone happens to have kids (or know someone who does) I’ve created a learning series that teaches them environmental stewardship in a fun way through stories and characters. It was my first try at making films with a DSLR…(they can be very challenging to work with in the field)…but I think the films came out pretty well. The organization I made them for was very happy with them and uses the films all the time…hopefully others can benefit from them as well. Please feel free to share with teachers, family, friends or anyone you know who might find them useful.

Hey there,

I’ve posted some more wild cartoon-style texture images derived from glass objects:

TXR – GLASS – Cartoon

https://soundimage.org/txr-glass-cartoon/

As always, please remember that they are meant to be building blocks rather than polished textures, so feel free to edit / alter / mash / etc., as needed.

Don’t forget to check out my learning series that teaches environmental responsibility in a fun way through stories and characters. The premise is this:

How can we expect children to be the future stewards of the Earth if they don’t feel connected to it??

Please share with family, friends, teachers or anyone who might find it useful.

I can’t believe May is almost over…what the hell happened to spring? I swear…time is going by faster and faster…yikes!

Anyhow, more new cartoon-style (for lack of a better word) texture images are here:

TXR – CONCRETE / PAVEMENT – Cartoon
https://soundimage.org/txr-concrete-pavement-cartoon/

TXR – GLASS – Cartoon
Some wild textures here…
https://soundimage.org/txr-glass-cartoon/

TXR – GROUND – Cartoon
https://soundimage.org/txr-ground-cartoon/

TXR – VEGETATION – Cartoon
https://soundimage.org/txr-vegetation-cartoon/

If you find my work helpful (especially my music and sounds) please consider making a donation to my website. The synthesizers I use to create the music and sounds that I share with everyone are very expensive…so expensive, in fact, that I have to make monthly payments on them…and donations really help me a lot to pay for them. Thanks in advance…and please feel free to share your projects…I love to see how creative people are using my work!

Greetings fellow creatives,

If anyone is interested, I was asked to do an interview for a website called Exilian. Hopefully my answers were entertaining and (somewhat) intelligent…lol. Here’s a link if anyone wants to check it out:

https://exilian.co.uk/articles.php

That said, this week’s cool new textures are on the following pages:

TXR – BRICK - Seamless
Some really interesting brick textures.
https://soundimage.org/txr-brick-seamless/

TXR – ROCK/STONE – Seamless
Some new stone textures that could be used for old roads, paths, castles, etc. Some have grass between the stones, too.
https://soundimage.org/txr-rockstone-seamless/

More music is on its way as well as some cool new city ambience sounds.

Keep being creative!

Hey everyone,

For those of you who have been using my original music in your projects, I’ve had a good number of requests for uncompressed versions of my tracks, so I’ve begun making them available on Gumroad for a small fee to help support the site. The MP3 files that I make freely available sound very good, but the original uncompressed WAV files really sound incredible…give them a try!

If anyone is curious as to why I didn’t upload WAV files onto my site to begin with, the reason is that my web hosting service places limitations on file sizes and WAV files tend to be very large.

Anyhow, it’s going to take some time to upload everything, so if anyone has any requests for WAV versions of tracks you happen to like, just drop me an email and I’ll upload them to Gumroad for you. Feel free to convert to Ogg (or any format you like.)

That said, this week’s new free textures are on the following pages:

TXR – BRICK - Seamless
These might be really nice for castles.
https://soundimage.org/txr-brick-seamless/

TXR – WOOD – Seamless
Perhaps for old doors, structures, barrels or other things.
https://soundimage.org/txr-wood-seamless/

More music and ambient sounds coming this week.

Enjoy and keep being creative!

Hi guys,

New free images are waiting for your projects on these pages:

ART – Cobblestones
More mad experimenting. I made some pixel art style images from a couple of my cobblestone images. Maybe for castles and things? They look pretty cool scaled down. Feel free to edit / take samples from them / scale them as needed, etc.
https://soundimage.org/art-cobblestones/

ART – Brick
Some new pixel art-style brick images. Trying to come up with some fresh new looks. Feel free to edit / take samples from them / scale them as needed, etc.
https://soundimage.org/art-brick/

MUSIC UPDATE:

WAV files proved too large to upload onto Gumroad in any reasonable amount of time…(we’re talking about 1900+ tracks) so I’m uploading Ogg files instead. I’ve started with my Fantasy page. They sound really great…give them a try!

Meanwhile, if anyone has requests for WAV versions of tracks you happen to like, feel free to contact me.

Have a good week and keep being creative!

More mad experimenting this week.

I’ve been trying to create some new looks for pixel art-style images, specifically tiles that can be used in 2D games and things.

On my ART – Brick page, you’ll find:

A bunch of cool new brick tiles, 64 by 64 pixels each. Some have a 3D look to them.

https://soundimage.org/art-brick/

On my ART – Ground page, you’ll find:

A variety of new ground tiles that could work for rocky surfaces, grass, sand, etc.

https://soundimage.org/art-ground/

MUSIC UPDATE:

Super high-quality Ogg files are now available for every track on my Fantasy 1 page as well as my Sci-Fi/Space page. And for about half of the tracks on my Looping Music page.

Eventually, they will be available for every track on my site.

Meanwhile, if anyone has requests for Ogg versions of tracks you happen to like, just let me know and I’ll be happy to upload them for you.

Enjoy and keep being creative!

Hi guys,

I’ve been super busy this week creating custom music for a bunch of indie projects, but I did manage some more mad experiments with pixel art-style wood tiles...128X128. You can download them freely here:

https://soundimage.org/art-wood/

OGG MUSIC UPDATE:

All of the music tracks on my Horror/Surreal page can now be downloaded as very high-quality Ogg files. Halloween’s not too far off, so I’ll try to create more creepy music tracks this month.

Meanwhile, if anyone has requests for Ogg versions of tracks that haven’t been made available yet, just let me know and I’ll be happy to upload them for you.

Enjoy!

I hope everyone is safe and healthy. If you have kids (or know someone who does) here's a brand new free resource that I hope is helpful. It's a website for my video learning series, “Dune’s Island.” Within it you can freely access all the episodes, support documentaries and tie-in curriculum (like vocabulary, math problems, writing prompts and more.)

In the coming weeks I’ll be expanding the site with all kinds of cool activities and more documentaries so please be sure to bookmark it. In the meantime, any and all feedback is welcome and very much appreciated. Enjoy and stay safe.

https://www.dunesisland.org/

P.S. Please feel free to share it on social media. Thanks!

TXR – Abstract

TXR – Rock/Stone – Seamless

More media creators have been asking about my higher quality Ogg music tracks. Please know that I’m in the process of creating them and uploading them to Gumroad, but it’s taking time since there are over 2000 tracks on my site. If you want an Ogg version of a track that isn’t available yet, just email me and I’ll be happy to create it for you and put it on Gumroad.

Be well.

For those of you who are using my music tracks, I had a request last weekend for a bunch of higher quality Ogg versions of my tracks that I hadn’t yet converted, so they are now available if anyone is interested. They are:

Funky Gameplay

Windle Pixel Saves the Day (Looping)

Puzzling Curiosities

Points Tally

Pixelin’ It Around Town

Mysterious Puzzle

Cyber Puzzles

Cryptic Puzzler 2

Arcade Puzzler_v001

They sound great and are a cool way to support my work. :)

Hi Folks,

If you can, please consider making a small donation on my site to support my work. The camera I use to create free images for everyone is very expensive...I've been paying it off for some time...and donations from the creative community really help me a lot.

That said, brand new free texture images are available on these pages:

TXR - FABRIC
https://soundimage.org/txr-fabric/

TXR - FUR
https://soundimage.org/txr-fur/

Enjoy and stay safe. :)
