Game Mechanics Bomberman Z-Ordering..How can I achieve this?

    I'm interested in trying a simple bomberman clone but have no clue where to start with the persepctive and z-ordering of players, enemies and tiles etc..

    Can anyone point me to a tut or offer any advice?

    The simplest way would be {depth = -y;} But it's not the most optimized.
    Probably FriendlyCosmonout Optimized depth system.

    I really can't understand why yoyogames didn't make a "depth within a layer" system instead of the current layer system.
