Hi! I'm working on Backpack Twins, a platformer with puzzle elements, based on a character switching mechanic. Another key gameplay element is the ability to step on the other character's backpack to reach higher places. I have some additional ideas to enrich the game experience and will be showing them here as they get done. The game rewards good planning and timing of character switching. Sometimes the twins will each face their own challenges independently. Various hazards to avoid. Teamwork is key. Testing the cutscenes and dialog system (placeholder images). This game goes to weird places. Added doors activated by floor switches. If a door crushes you, you die. Adding more puzzles after introducing floor switches and doors. Falling blocks can activate floor switches and will kill the player if standing below them. Fragile rock can be destroyed by the player's weight or also by a falling block. Please keep in mind that not all shown assets are final, this is mostly a gameplay showcase. Here's a demo so you can get a feel of gameplay in its current state.
