Hello!
I've been having an issue with sound priority. My small sound effects and background music are Wave Sounds.

I currently have my BGM Wave Sounds set to the highest priority (I believe priority doesnt matter until you play too many sounds at once?), regardless -- whenever a sound effect is played, my background music significantly drops in volume and then awkwardly restores its volume once the sound effect finishes.

I use the audio_play_sound(id,priority,loops); function for all my sounds.

I must be doing something wrong, any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated!

This sounds like your operating system, sound card or software on your PC are somehow applying attenuation to your game (similarly to how Skype turns the volume of everything but itself down while you're in a call). I'm not aware of GM:S' audio engine providing any sort of attenuation functionality, so this is probably an issue with something else on your PC.
