So I'm developing a large, school-based RPG but I've been stuck for a couple of months now trying to design the actual school's floorplan. I'm pretty sure I've put myself on a terrorism watch list for extensive googling for school floorplans already, but while the other buildings were fairly easy to design, the main school building is a real pain in the ass.

Anybody know of any good hints or tricks to help me out with this?

Well, I don't know if it's more inconspicuous, but you can take one floor of a hotel. Long corridor, many rooms left and right
and what remains is the gym, the teachers room and a room for the caretaker.
Or just describe exactly what your problem is.

Some of the featured schools on the web site of this architectural firm include scans of school floorplans. Note that these guys are high-end, cutting edge and many of their schools do not look like traditional high schools.

In the UK all planning applications are made public - meaning you can find any school plans provided you search for it.

If you want realistic school settings:

BB103 is the government standard for school design

    For nice architecture:

ArchDaily is the best blog/site for architecture news and projects.
(Choose a project and scroll down to the images - generally they have floorplans)

    Dezeen is good for design
