Hellllllooooo:
I wanted to invite you to join the r/gml/ sub-reddit and post free functions for people to use on Fridays. #FreeFunctionFriday is a way to share functions with other GameMaker developers who are GML-focused.
The latest function is: LineLine(..) collision test
Based on a function gifted via Public Domain by Paul Bourke (http://paulbourke.net), this fast integer-based test returns information about a line's collision with another line.
You can view it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/gml/comments/o7qsvp
Paul Bourke is a pioneer of computer graphics originally contributing to Graphics Gems in the late 1980s and 1990s. Paul Bourke is a very smart man indeed! His inspirational academic works helped push graphics in its early days and his open source methodology of "public domain" technology transfer cannot be discounted as a driving force behind the "openness" of graphics algorithms in the early days.
Come visit and support other makers by joining r/GML on Reddit.com where we post GML-related resources, GML functions, and much more!
Stay tuned every Friday for a #FreeFunction
Peace and hair grease,
