Android cutout letterboxing problem

Basically, the area within the Android Cutout zone(also known as notch) is blackened. The image below is an example (The yellow area is completely black on my phone).
I wish to remove the black area and let the screen go full + fullscreen

Not sure if it's possible without an extension (though it may be, I've never looked into it) however I remembered seeing this extension a while ago which may help.
