Android Android Build Failed Heap Space

Hi trying to compile an imported 1.4 project in GM:2 but cant seem to get it up and running. compiles fine in 1.4.

Build Settings:

Build Tools: 25.0.2
Support library: 25.3.1
Target SDK: 25
Minimum SDK: 9
Compile SDK 25

JDK: jdk1.8.0_131 64bit
NDK: 14b64
SDK: API LEVEL 25 Revision 3

All build tools / support repositories installed.

Tried upping the Java heap space in the IDE to 2,4,8,16,32

Tried creating a gradle.properties file and placing it in app data\.Gradle
with the content:

Running dex as a separate process.

To run dex in process, the Gradle daemon needs a larger heap.
It currently has 1024 MB.
For faster builds, increase the maximum heap size for the Gradle daemon to at least 4608 MB (based on the dexOptions.javaMaxHeapSize = 4g).

I managed to resolve the issue, I was on the right track all along the problem was I had to save the gradle.properties files as a ".properties file" I had saved it as a .txt...
