GMS 2.3+ All of a Sudden Delta Time Giving Incorrect Number?

So here's the create event code:

GML:
target_delta = 1/144;
actual_delta = delta_time/1000000;

and here's the step event code:

GML:
actual_delta = delta_time/1000000;
delta_multiplier = actual_delta/target_delta;

It was working fine until today, at 60fps the delta would be about 2.4, but no it's giving a readout of 3 out of the blue, and the only object that seems to be synced to the new readout is my enemy object, the rest of my objects are still working as usual. Why is this happening?

If you get two different results when performing a math operation using two arguments, one or both of the arguments are different in the two different cases. Determine which one it is and debug to find out where it suddenly takes on a different value from what is expected.
