GML AI getting stuck

Hey guys,

so my AI walks around and when it trys to attack the player it does get stuck on scenery. At the moment with the collid event I just have
/// collid with solid
x = xprevious;
y = yprevious;

so when it moves past something it will just get stuck and won't get unstuck. Is there any better way of making ai avoid an item? Thanks so much!
