A Math question(simplify formula)

Hi! I'm learning some trigonometry stuff (because we never know enough!) and I'm stuck on something that is, perhaps basic for some of you. Simplify a formula.
I have this:

sqrt(3)+1
_______
sqrt(2)
_______
2

It's supposed to equal to:

sqrt(6)+sqrt(2)
____________
4

in other word: (sqrt(3)+1)/sqrt(2)/2 == sqrt(6)+sqrt(2)/4

The closer i'm to is:

sqrt(3)+1
_______
2*sqrt(2)

that is: (sqrt(3)+1)/2*sqrt(2)

Any hints? Thx.

Please use parentheses next time when showing that 1+2/3 actually means (1+2)/3. If you throw these two in a calculator, you'll get different results, and the same is when you show them to someone.
