Discussion 32 Bit / 64 Bit Executables?

    Compiling from GMS2 using YYC, is this correct?

    Windows = 32 bit executable
    Linux = 32 executable
    Mac = 64 bit executable

    Yes.

    Although Windows UWP is 32 or 64 bit. The choice is up to you.

    Actually, not 100% sure of the state of the Linux module. It is possible that this is now 64 bit also. Maybe someone in the know might be able to shed some light on that one.

    Linux in some of the oldest releases of GMStudio 2.x were 32-bit but has been changed to 64-bit for quite some time now. In GMStudio 1.4 Linux executables are always 32-bit. Those 32-bit Linux runtimes are no longer available for 2.x.

    Windows (not UWP) are 32-bit only in 1.4 and 2.x. But this is subject for change in the future with 2.x.

    In all versions of GMStudio 1.4 except the very last one released, are universal apps meaning they will run on 32 and 64 bit. The last version of 1.4 and most of the runtimes 2.x at this point I believe are 64 bit only. But the only 2.x runtimes that were universal for Mac I'm pretty sure are no longer available to roll back to.

    All of this is is true for both VM and YYC. Doesn't and shouldn't make a difference.
