Windows 3-Dimensional Camera Setup in GMS2?

Hey people, I was just wondering as to how I would be able to set up a camera system that works in a three dimensional space in the latest version of GMS2. I have some prior experience with the D3D systems that were used in GMS1 but I've been told that there is a way to do this in GMS2 without using D3D systems. I just want to be able to move the position of the camera (and therefore object) on the XYZ plane whilst changing both the rotation and angle of the camera.

I've previously tried setting up the camera as I've done prior for 2D, though instead of using orthographic, I've used the perspective camera view. I'm unsure on what is actually required for this to work, so I've been basing this off my prior experience using D3D and 2D cameras.

All help would be greatly appreciated. I'm aiming for a sort of dungeon crawler like feel if this helps, although in a different setting.

Thanks.
