Let me start by saying I'm sorry if this is an obvious fix; I'm relatively new to Game Maker: Studio. I just searched for this problem everywhere and couldn't get an answer.
Anyways, my problem is that sometimes backgrounds and sprites for an object (player) get placed in...
So some aspects of my game revolve heavily around the image_angle value. I also use views to scale up my game from it's native resolution of 180x100 to around 720x400. what I've noticed is that when I disable views, and scale my game up through an alternate methods, such as full screen, I loose...
So I'm working on a game (In case you couldn't guess) and while i'm quite good at the coding and sound design of things i have no clue how to deal with the pixel side of the project.
I made some basic 32X32 sprites and tiles in Photoshop but they just look blury when i try to import them to...
I feel my portfolio speaks for itself, ive worked between a lot of mediums including games and can be accommodating with prices.
I have a soft spot for passion projects but I still will always require some amount of payment for work.
That said, your project is never too small or `not good...
Well, I thought this had something to do with resolution, but it doesn't seem like this it does. Or may be it does and I just don't know how to do it. When making a particular game, I had one cool idea. But this involves doing something a bit... strange. Imagine you've drawn some high rez...

So my game is running at 1280x720 resolution.
I set display_set_gui_size(1280, 720) but i get pixel problems where some pixels are missing or is added when i go to fullscreen or change resolution.
I assume its because its not perfect increase/decrease (x2,x0.5) and there is no such thing as a...
I've just completed my second game. It's called TYPE Z. It's basically like Typing of the Dead, but in case if you haven't played the game, here's a quick run-down of what my game is:
You move the crosshair left or right with the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys. When you settle on...
I've been tinkering with shaders for a bit and wanted to ask if it's possible to do this or any guidance in the right direction: A shader that checks if each pixel on the sprite is visible. If the pixel is not visible (an enemy is standing in front of them, blocking the pxiel), draw the pixel in...

Hey everyone this seems like an off topic thing but I'm making a bunch of 64x64 animated sprite based avatars for forums and stuff. All ones resembling actual video games are free. But I like to make them different and fun.
So far I've started with only 2
Here is a sample of three:
So I am programming a pixel art platformer game in my spare time. I recently started learning GML and GMS. However I have run into an issue with the graphics. Currently while I creating the body of the game like movement, etc I am using a square to simulate my player and enemies.
I want to draw all pixels in the room individually, whats the best way to do so?
Every pixel's color will be calculated from the math formula that uses x and y position as input.
Should I use surface?
Should I draw 1x1 sprite and move it along?
Or something else ?
Also it would be cool to be...
