I love game making, I love the game I'm working on. Coding is fun, problem solving, figuring things out.
But I'm at a point where most coding is set. Need to code more, but only after implementing more characters and sprites. Where in lies my problem.
I took a break as I do sometimes. This...
I've been really hoping to start a new project for a couple weeks now, but I just can"t decide what game I'd like to make. I wanted to make a roguelike or an RPG, or an RTS, and my mind just can't come up with any ideas. \
could someone please give me some advice on how to brainstorm ideas...

Hello, I'm making a game that I hope can get popular or sorta popular. So far my friends and family think the story is great and love it! But I want better advice. My game is called Project T.E.S.T. You, (Zack), and your two friends, Zeek and Zoey, go to TECC labs to do a prank in Mr.Neal's...
I have 5 years of experience working with GameMaker Studio. You can find a few tutorials written by myself in the community, as well as a number of game assets on the GameMaker Marketplace.
Due to some time limitations, I am restricted to taking on smaller projects at this time. Feel free to...
I am making a platform game in 2D. I am very bad in game design so I would need someone who could do this for me. I can't pay you for your work but I can do advertisement if you want. I need backgrounds and sprites (often in 64x64). I have to finish my game before 2018 so I would like...
I'm a VFX/CG artist with 10+ years of experience and an avid gamer. I've been kicking around some ideas for a game for a while now. The most basic of concepts for the game is the it would be an isometric survival exploration based game with crafting and such. I know that doesn't sound all...
I'm creating a RPG game and I'm having this layer problem that you can see in the screenshots in the attachments, or push these links:

I’m looking for some opinions on preferences regarding how to handle ‘scaling up’ a game to give it an old-school look.
Essentially, there are two ways to handle this. You can either:
A) Draw your sprites 1:1, then ‘scale up’ the game to a higher resolution (keeping the desired ratio, say...
Hello! My name is Sajid and I am working on an Isometric Turn Based Tactics RPG called SIDON. I am the main programmer and writer. I'm interested in having another game designer on my team to help me design RPG mechanics and systems which I will then implement.
I understand the theoretical and...

I just posted a game to itchio about helping a guy complete his bucket list, but everything keeps going wrong for him!
4 challenging levels (More to come!)
Cool retro graphics (I totally wasn't lazy when I made them)
3 original music tracks
Crazy action sequences
So I have a line of sight set up for my enemy but I want my enemy to face my player once it's seen him but for
some reason I can't get it to work, I swear the codes right too?
Here's the code:
//Line of sight/Face the player
Hi everyone! Recently I've been playing games like Hollow Knight, and the original Legend of Zelda. Something that stood out to me is how their maps are designed. Very basic and limiting for the first part, letting you explore and create the map yourself.
So it brought me to think, do you all...
ARK Survival Evolved is actually one of the most poorly designed games I think I've ever seen. This is, of course, excluding the asset flip... That's a different story altogether. Looking at you, DigitalHomicide
There are a lot of things wrong with ARK and most of it seems to come from a core...
Hi, today I have a problem, a solution and a question.
I would like to do this...
Now, there's a way of doing it.
The way of doing it is to create different points directed toward the corner of a shape, and then create two more points that go 1 degree more and less than the point...
I'll cut to the chase.
In my game, when you kill enemies you earn experience (Those green dots). How can I make the player recover health? There's no items, and I would like to avoid "special enemies" that can give you health. Just to be sure a player can play without killing anyone if they want.
