I respect Thomas brush for his games, but don't like his YouTube personality.
I'm not talking about grammar, I'm talking about writing every sentence like it's a riddle)
The way you formulate sentences keeps fascinating me:)
You should write a puzzle game.
Love everything except for the in-game color palette...
The colors are too brown/muddy.
I usually do this:
-Build a feature
-test and tune it
-start on a new feature.
The reason why I do this, is because I find it...
Practise and study
Torment, such a awesome game.
I'm playing enter the gungeon with my son, and some steamworld dig 2 on the side.
On the other hand, I do get some flack for my current project (a top down arcade ship battle game) for being similar to someone else's game...
Just make the game..
Sounds like you need to team up with a artist
Your art would improve a lot if you used a color palette.
Nuts goner approved!
There is no trick to drawing "nice graphics", just a lot of of practise, and hours of studying color theory, anatomy, lighting, shapedrawing etc...
Why would anyone worry about having their code decompiled?
Unless you use your scripts as some sort of diary to store your darkest secrets;)
What you are talking about is "billboarding".
Billboarding is projecting 2d sprites in a 3D enviroment in a way that they always face the camera....
There are multiple solutions:
-make the camera zoom out when aiming the sniper rifle
-move the camera ahead of the player
No, gamemaker can do high-res sprites too (hollow knight, guacamelee etc), for example sword of ditto is done in high-res art.
Only problem that...
Ethian, you should just make something (a small demo) and get some feedback...
You are stuck in the idea phase for more than a year now.
This post is pretty depressing tbh:)
I'm trying to balance a fulltime job, parenting/family life, Gamedev, gaming, and staying healthy :)
