download for win or android : http://gemstones.bplaced.net/apk/

added items
- "pink floaters"
they float in the air or even rise up, you can push them around in all directions,
some of them containing other items when popped,
the "pink ballon" is a child of those floaters...

- "secret walls"
you can pass through though they look like solids

splited the object amoba into

"amoba green"
"amoba blue"

they can spread into each other (eat the other colour)
and amoba will die when it cant spread because its surrounded by other solid objects (default is blue will die but green wont) ... dead amoba will turn into gems.

+ new level with blue amoba

version 022

(it will be possable in the future to fullfill goals to get stars and unlock more levels at once)

version 023

added simplistic (unwieldy) LevelEditor
-> Load and Save a selfmade level as file
(level editor CAN'T handle lava & teleporter & hints & scores yet)

but its still fun to pause the running game at anytime and edit something and then continue the same game with the new changes...

version 024b

i had to clean up abit (after loss of the work of the last 4 days) and add new objects that are just "virtual" so that the leveleditor works with lava and teleporter ...

so nothing new ...but a cleaner version of leveleditor and some minor changes.

Okay so I'm going to be honest and tell you this game is alright for a first one, but I definitely wouldn't put it on android. You should try to learn a bit more about GM:S and make something new and creative, that won't just add to the garbage on the Android store. These kind of games sort of give Game Maker a bad name. I don't mean to be rude about it, but that's just my opinion.

Hi Forgeio, nice that you write a feedback..your the first one.

But i think you should add more facts and reasons...whats wrong with it ?

And in general : why should it give GM a bad touch... its like you say :
"i know your brother he is bad... so you must be a bad as well"
or even better
"oh this sculpure is awefull .. the tools used to make it must be very awefull too... hammer and axe must be very awefull tools"
... my project is MY thing and not made by GM itself... GM is a tool..... you got a strange logic.

but plase explain more.. id like to hear it.

my first attemt in GM was (html5) : http://gemstones.bplaced.net/Pang/
but ok ..sure you can count it as first try if you like.

only drawback are the controlls ..... im not pleased with controlling the character.

version 025

changed alot of code...i tried to sort all objects into a hirachy and use parents and childrens ... so i could wipe away alot of code repetitions. would be easy if i had done it right from the start.

room size can be changed, buttons will change on their own to fit different screen sizes.

added object:
ice cubes, slides without friction till it hits something else. ice cubes can knock other things away.
ice cubes with frozen content that will be released when ice is crushed.
(any object can be inside the ice cube, but for the leveleditor it is restricted to most importent objects only)

Download link updated.

version 027 + version 028
were both broken... the new code for the controller didnt worked on android...

version 028e
-everything works fine again, new controller code that makes moving the player abit easier and smoothly (going diagonal works too)
-added method to save a path where the player will move automaticly, it could be used for replays but you can always stop the replay and continue to play on your own
-added wobbly "effect Text", it doesnt uses fonts but normal sprites (text appears letter by letter...)

I watched the video and the first thing I suggest changing is the graphics. The blocks are mismatched and the main character's sprite is stretched - it's not very appealing. Because you mentioned it in your post, there's plenty of free graphics packs on the internet you can use, and you can use BFXR for simple 8 and 16 bit sound effects.

The level select menu has way too much going on. That much information on one menu is distracting. It would be better off as two screens: A title screen with the game name, your info, and maybe a couple of the insects, and a level select with just the levels. Less is more: You don't want any more movement on the menu than you have to so it doesn't take attention away from the important stuff. I'd suggest getting rid of the animated email to start. Also, it's a good idea to keep all the menus as minimal as possible so people can immediately tell what they can interact with.

The gameplay looks decent however. There's lots of variety in the gameplay and it's obvious you put time into the puzzle design. I'd suggest faster player movement but it's hard to tell without playing the game.

I also suggest tidying up the first post and adding a description for the game. Not everybody has played Emerald Mine and will know what you're talking about. Embedding some screenshots (instead of attaching them) and formatting the object list with bullet points will help. The first post is your first impression, make it a good one!

Thanks for your suggestions..that makes sense and ill try to make some changes...

i cant work on the game at the moment..but i will soon.
only thing i dont agree is the graphics...im not sure if i want a set of gfx that is used in several other games...but sure im not an artist and you see that in the gfx...

thanks

ps. maybe it would be a good idea to delete most posts and start a new more condensed overview
