Mine I like to keep clean of icons and widgets, so it's not exactly an interesting way to start this thread:

75244401_555284828608009_9180198328087986246_n.jpg

Do it in it's current state with all windows closed or minimized without changing anything, no matter how embarrassing the desktop background, icons, or file names might be. One exception: don't post it if it contains pornography or anything else against the forum rules or guidelines.

It can be just a screenshot or a photo of your entire physical workstation if you wish to include that like I did.

Couldn't upload to my original post, and I had to significantly decrease the size of the image, but here ya go.
A friend of mine made the background image, and there's another half a desktop worth of files in the folder named "crap" on the right-hand side. Might be a couple images from the GMC in there, if you look.

I could've cleaned it sometime ago, but I've decided to clean it after I fill the entire screen. Completionism I guess.

Edit- @Cloaked Games I love your desktop image.

Here is mine. I only moved one or two things I didn't want to show.
You forgot to move finalCard***.

I don't have anything on my desktop. In fact, I was using my current setup for roughly two to three years before I even bothered to change the wallpaper... so have a screenshot of some cat girls and black bars. (Warning: 15 MB image)

My start menu, on the other hand, is a different story. ... okay, still not a lot. I'm used to open stuff via Windows -> name -> enter. :S

Meh, what the hell...

This is my laptop as I'm currently travelling (although my actual home PC is pretty similar). I normally keep it even tidier than this, but my son's been using it for school work. Oh and the background image is one of 12 images that I made a while back when I was using photoshop to do some design work for a client. I consider all 12 images to be some of my best artistic work to date, tbh.... :)

Here is mine.
That is some badass dedication to your work.

@Coded Games I saw Decks of Dexterity within Bearman_18's files, must be great to see your game pop up in other places.

Meh, what the hell...
A GMC admin with no GMS2 icon on the desktop?! But yet Sourcetree gets a desktop shortcut and a taskbar pin while GMS2 gets no desktop treatment?!! BLASPHEMY! This is Heresy of the highest order!

This is hearsay of the highest order!
This statement is accidentally correct. :p

Task bar has a higher rank than desktop. You always see the task bar unless you're in full screen. You don't see the desktop if you have any window maximized, or any combinations of windows covering up enough screen space. He also follows the golden rule of programming, Don't Repeat Yourself, at least to a certain extent, so having it twice would actually be worse. This also ranks Sourcetree lower than GMS2. The world's order has been restored.

I meant to type Heresy, but that is what you get when you write a post late instead of going to bed.:D

Oh now your defending him? You all are heretics, I will see you both hanged for this.

Mine is pretty simple. I try to keep it pretty clean with games I play the most often and other files I am currently using on the desktop and common apps on the task bar. Yup that's about it.

Mine is exactly the same way... Be honest, when your desktop is completely full do you "clean" it or just move everything into a folder named crap, more crap, even more crap, etc...? o_O

Edit: Re-read your post. I'd advise that you stop doing that immediately or pretty soon you'll end up with a wildly unmanageable hard-drive. Mine's 1TB and I have 30GB free. I feel that I can't delete anything, need more space, and don't have the time to deal with it. That's a dangerous game you're playing.

oh yes, that's why my desktops are so clean, I had just tidied everything up into folder. I tend to name them Stuff, Stuff1, Stuff2, Archive of Stuff, More Stuff, and Stuff To Sort Later.
I'm a "Junk" man myself...

I needed to read that, because my laptop is starting to look very much the same way. :bash:

I'm fairly surprised by how customizable the MATE desktop environment is. Here's my current setup on GhostBSD, although you can get an identical setup on your Linux machine as well. You can get the wallpaper I used from here: https://store.kde.org/p/1399073 Probably my favorite customization. I'm breaking my topic rules briefly and posting a window not minimized just to show what it looks like.

Likely by using a picture that spans both monitors. See %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\TranscodedWallpaper for reference (it's a JPEG without an extension).
Windows' default desktop background manager may or may not let you create such a composite image via the GUI, but you can certainly overwrite it manually or use external tools to stitch an image together and then manually overwrite this file, or create one and handle setting it as the background automatically (e.g. DisplayFusion).

You can also cut an existing image in half if its wide enough with the right aspect ratio for the two monitors in question.

Is that your game by any chance? In which case I'm very impressed.
Are you talking about the background? Only in my dreams lol, this is "Ori and The Blind Forest", was made in Unity. I have a few experience with Unity indeed.

"Fox's Paradise" is my game, but I only made a Launcher with an update system, which logs in and creates accounts, you can see player statistics, save online and more. This is being done in Unity, but as it is 3D, so I took a break for lack of resources.
If you want to test:

And about "Fox's Paradise", I think about remaking the Launcher because when I did it I had less experience and ended up reviving my old "account creation project" and it is a little poorly optimized and with some bugs.

I had made a new design for the installer:

I'm thinking about remaking the game logo too, and the background I did and I haven't finished yet...

Oh, and the Launcher and Setup is being made on Game Maker Studio 2, the game on Unity.
I used some of your extensions like Dialog System and Execute Shell :D

Look pretty epic! Try it now! ^_^

Edit:

Looking great! I tried the banned account and it didn't let me login, so I guess that means it is working XD

How did you get your pic to go across the two? Mine always wants to just duplicate a picture over the 4 monitors.

Make sure your monitors are set up to expand the screen not to duplicate what one screen sees (The wallpaper pic)
Have a picture that is the width and height of 2 monitors in my case 3840x1080
go to your background settings and choose fill or span (idk the difference but both look the same and work)

uTorrent... Club Penguin... Hamachi and Minecraft AND GM8.. What is this?! 2006? Now you just need a notepad where it says: Hello and welcome to my tutorial.

That's nostalgia right there buddy! :p
Yes 😆 This is "Club Penguin Island", a game that replaced the original Club Penguin but it went bankrupt because it was too capitalist, it still works and can no longer be downloaded anywhere official. (Ended in 20 december 2018, the same day of my school graduation, nowadays I go to college).

I started using Game Maker 5.3 (but not on the date it was created) but then I met Game Maker 7 and stopped at version 8. Game Maker 8.1 I was not a fan.
So when I met Studio 1.4 it was love at first sight. After released Game Maker Studio 2 I was a little apprehensive because it was something new and the interface was modified. So I only had the strength to start using it in version 2.1, and that was when I needed to know how the Snidr 3D's engine worked, which only had new updates in version 2 of Game Maker Studio. And since then I love Game Maker Studio 2.
