I've been trying desperately to find a tutorial on touch controls in game maker studio 2 but all I find is gms1 tutorials! I absolutely do not understand how touch controls work or how to use them, I'm trying to make an android game but to no avail. Please send help!

It depends on what you need. The built in touch events cover most of the common uses and support multi-touch.

The old GMS 1.4 way of treating touch input like the left mouse button still works on the most part. Follow those that you threw out for being in GMS 1, and adapt as necessary.
