Took a break from coding and worked on some background art. I quite like how the layers move in the parallax scrolling

Background art looks great and evokes quite a mood. I think overall your game can benefit more from atmosphere, darkness, light and shadows. That could be something you intend to add last, but I thought I'd mention it.

Made a plant enemy that shoots globs of acid upwards. This one is obviously inspired by the volcano plant enemy that appears in many Mario games.

Looks like DOOM and Metroid in one good package. I like where this is going. Is there a playable demo, I'd love to try it out!
