So I'm currently working on a game where some objects are mineable and others aren't. I want those that can be mined to stick out a little bit but not to destroy the atmosphere.

So here is an example, I want the object with this sprite:
Stone.png
to look like this:
ezgif.com-gif-maker (1).gif

I manually animated this one, however it would be too time-consuming to do this for each object, plus very inefficient.

So my question is if there is an efficient way to do something like this.
My guess would be that it could be done with shaders but I'm not really sure.

I would love to hear you suggestions and thoughts on this! Thanks!
