A Head's Start by Ghandpivot
The first and last sections were great, the middle not so much.
Rolling around as a head was surprisingly fun.
But once I got the feet, that whole middle section was a bit of a bland platformer.
But *then* you get the legs and it's fun again, the music speed shifting with the running speed was very nice.
Your art style isn't the prettiest but at least it's consistent, and your end animation made it worth it
Overall it was pretty enjoyable, except for the middle section.
Asteroids Converge by Aegirbard
Very slow and unsatisfying.
The concept was neat though.
Use of theme was weak to non-existant though.
The game window was too small, would have been nice to be able to resize it.
Asymptote by chance
I thought the ramp thing was going to be the whole game then it kept changing.
Not really sure what this had to do with convergence, or even what the game was supposed to be.
The wavelength game thingy was neat though, and those effects meant to distract me were cool.
AtomiConverge by Sohom Sahaun, Enrique
This was a lovely little game. I just wish there was a little more to do with the merging than completing the level.
The platforming felt very good, very solid.
Though the jump wouldn't reset on the coloured platforms so I had to walk across to normal ground on one stage. No big deal though.
The music was very calming, was that yours, I'd rank you higher if it was?
Attract/Repel by Cat
Interesting idea, and challenging levels. That last one was a doozy.
It was fun but the pace was really slow so I felt my attention waning a few times.
Some calming music and sound effects would have really sold me on this.
Blob by Weerdoh
Sprites were nice and so were the backgrounds, so you at least have that going for you.
I'm not sure where to start... The controls are awful, really bad.
Firstly, you shouldn't have a separate button that does the same thing for each creature.
And then on top of that I'm required to use the mouse to aim the spider's attack. I only have two hands and I shouldn't be expected to move my hands from keyboard to mouse like that.
No sound at all was a bit of a bummer.
Not really feeling the theme, possession isn't really convergence.
Boxbuddy Monsters by lazertrax
Cute sprites and a great puzzle game.
I thoroughly enjoyed all 10 levels.
There were one or two levels where the monster would get stuck against the goal, not sure if that was intentional.
Brain Dash by CamperLv, kepons
This was a good concept and made pretty well.
Not sure it fits the theme in the way you hope, very thin
I like how you can destroy the brain or the body, the option is nice and while I liked the idea of the orange health encouraging you not to stick with one body, it became a little annoying in the last level I played(not sure which one, I couldn't kill guys fast enough and find a new body).
But overall it was a cool game. Desperately needs some sound though.
Brush+Paper by FadedSketch
Sprites were very cute, and I liked the animation of the floating paper.
There wasn't really much to this at all outside a standard platformer.
The jump probably could be a bit lighter, but still seemed pretty solid.
The use of theme seemed a bit weak.
I'm not sure what the point was of the floating/brush parts since they seemed to just auto win the levels basically.
Cardvergence by Joh
I won a few matches but still didn't fully understand it by the end of my play session.
Since I didn't really understand the game, I can't fully say whether or not I think it fits the theme in any meaningful way.
Very well presented though, a lot of care went into making this.
CMYK by NightOwl35
Player sprites were cute.
Game was a bit of a slow, bland platformer though.
Some variable jumping, maybe a bit faster movement overall may have helped.
The 3 levels were long and boring, and the use of theme was a bit weak.
The art and effects were nice though.
Colorvergence by BumiBomber
The game looked great, the art was very nice but I didn't see any use of the theme.
The gameplay itself felt a bit too fast maybe.
The tutorial was confusing at first because nowhere in-game is it mentioned that you absorb powers from enemies, and those powers have limited uses, you didn't even include a readme so I only know after searching through the games topic for your game which I shouldn't have to do.
One of the first parts mentions using C to dash through blocks but I could see no blocks yet so I died a couple of times before realising I cannot dash yet...
The first level is designed a bit poorly, you need to give players some room to start, you can't just throw them in right next to an enemy. And the enemies respawn so quickly that I felt like I was constantly running back to get them before they could attack me from behind instead of progressing forward.
Oh and that gods-awful music on loop...
Colour along the lines by Vyking
The coloured snake things were cool, that was neat.
But, the gameplay itself was annoying and frustrating and boring.
I didn't understand it at first and kept failing so I re-read the tutorial and got a handle on it.
No indication if how long you can touch another colour was annoying so I just pass through at a right angle if possible.
No indication of where the next colour is coming from was a little annoying at first, but became frustrating on the obstacle level. I quit during that one because often a new colour would spawn right near one of the obstacles close to an edge and I didn't always have enough time to reflexively notice and steer it out of the way.
The music was very annoying too.
I feel like this would have been more interesting if you encouraged more overlapping of colours or something.
Convergence - Right to Left by ColtonPhilips
Heh, I literally just posted on the forums that I thought this towlr type of game sounds dumb then your game is the very next to pop up on my list...
I don't understand the appeal having to figure out the controls and gameplay myself so I didn't give this much of a chance.
Not sure what was happening but it wasn't very pretty.
Convergence by Dr. Wolf
That was very pretty and very well made, but it put me to sleep.
That first section was waaaay too long, the fun wore off after 10 seconds.
Thr orbit part was the only interesting part of the game, but the controls were very strange.
The car section was also too long and boring.
I think it's a bit of a leap to say this fits the theme. The gameplay certainly doesn't, but I guess the story vaguely does.
Oh yeah, the text during some of the gameplay segments was a neat idea but sometimes a bit of an annoyance and distraction. I didn't read some of it because I didn't want to fail the parts and have to start all over again(because they took so long).
Convergence by Ragarnak, JackOatley
Cool game, looked and sounded good.
The gameplay took a little to get used to and then I kept running out of ammo.
I stayed close to the centre most of the time because moving out from there made it a little too fast for me.
Converging Lanes by Kodiqi
This was very cool, I loved it.
Great use of the theme too.
I don't really have any criticisms or advice, I thought this was a very solid entry.
Dungeon Crush by Micah DS
I think I liked what you were trying to do, but it's hard to judge it in such an incomplete state.
The sprites were very nice.
ECHO by K3THC_P, MARN
Cool idea and very fun.
I feel like this is the opposite of the theme but whatever
There wasn't much visually to judge, the sprites were tiny and featureless but still looked nice, and the meteors and their particle trails looked great.
The music and sounds were nice but I just realised you borrowed them all, heh.
Epic Cool Cookie Bakery by SweetCelestia, r0wan
Not totally sure what it had to do with convergence(convergence of ingredients? A bit weak in my opinion)
Made me think of Overcooked, but without any urgency or fun.
It looked good, and was presented well, though the music had a weird distortion to it.
After a few orders it bugged out and would accept any more cookies.
Extreme Quilting by speedchuck
The idea was ok, but in the end it's just an uninteresting Tetris clone.
I don't really feel the theme usage.
At least it was well made, the timer on the mistakes is a good idea too, adds that little layer of challenge.
Falloff Brawl Arena by Misty
The use of theme in a sorta king of the hill game was interesting. Well made.
Very simple and kind of fun for a bit, though I got stomped by the AI.
This could probably make a fun little online game.
Whoa! Your credits are long!
FleitGeist by Sinaz20, FredFredrickson
Requires a gamepad on PC? I don't have access to one currently. Thanks...
Flood Control by Tyche
Only 3 levels and no real challenge.
Theme usage wasn't immediately obvious to me, I liked what you were trying to do though.
Perhaps I may have added a flow direction or something so I couldn't just dig sideways, I'm not sure what else I would have done to make this more interesting.
Be wary of using dark text colours over a dark game, I could barely read the end level message.
FlyTrap by TotallyAverageGames
This was a pretty cool little game, man.
I enjoyed making webs and eating bugs, the web making was great.
Thought it was cool you let me change the colour of the spider.
Some music and some sort of progression would have made this much better though.
Fusionman: Criminal Convergence by Yal
I scored 114011744 before my wrist got tired and I gave up.
I liked the idea and it's use of the theme but it became a bit messy quickly.
I found the windmill technique to be quite useful, where I sit in the middle and rotate my guy and wall of dead guys to shoot everywhere and absorb all the bullets.
Woof, that MSpaint title art...
Gather 'Round by The M
Really cool idea, I totally spaced(pun intendid) on the goal on my first go and just gobbled all the planets I could.
Much better on my second try when I played properly.
Shame you didn't get more time to spend on this becuase the idea was neat, but some polish would have gone a long way.
Get Together by rio-85
Interesting idea but pooly implimented.
I kept slipping over despite not being near the puddles or ice or whatever it was.
Even your collisions with the other people were very bad, you should reduce the vertical size of the bounding boxes.
I found the best way to play was just run off the level to the bottom part and run right across. I only got stopped a couple of times and still barely made it on time, so that gives me concerns about attempting to play this properly.
Also, why were the cops robbing me as well? Rude.
Sprites were cute and well animated though.
GMC Jammin' by ParodyKnaveBob
I give this art an F. Fart.
Sorry, couldn't resist when I saw you mention art in your afterword.
I don't like having to guess controls so this game bugged me from the start.
Use of theme was weak too.
I think if you added some smoother movement and some sound effects, this would have been at least a little enjoyable.
Hold fire! by andev
It looked and felt great, not really sure where the theme comes in though.
Thought it was a bit weird and annoying that the projectiles hung around if they missed.
Howler Monkey by Ninety
It looked great and played alright for a simple platformer.
But that's all it was though, very generic. Pretty but generic.
I didn't feel the theme at all either.
HUGS by Nallebeorn
Damn it, Nallebeorn. That game was adorable af. We should start a compilation list of games about hugging with this and my pirate hugging game from like 2 jams ago.
Theme usage isn't strong as you say, but hugs are a kind of convergence I can get behind!
Only thing I'd suggest is adding the ability to swing yourself left and right while suspended.
HYPERSPACE by Cloaked Games, Barvix and HayManMarc
I didn't really understand the convergence part.
It was confusing that enemy ships could fly around through the walls.
The regular laser didn't feel good to me.
Controlling the ship felt weird, but the speed up effect was neat.
Interceptor by Shadow_Lancer
I thought the idea was neat but the execution was a bit lacking.
This game was all trial and error, mostly error on my part
I actually got stuck on like the 3rd or 4th level.
Sadly the parts I liked were the parts you borrowed like the music
Theme usage was good though, intercepting missiles is a neat idea.
Kidnapped Kingdom by Lt. Farfetch'd and Noah4DeWin
The music was nice, but inconsistent. Since there are no credits I'm not sure if you made the music or borrowed it all.
I don't think this was a good use of the theme at all.
The gameplay was very boring. You wander around and talk to people, tell them all the same things to get them to move.
As an Australian myself, I felt very offended by the elves! (Just kidding, I thought that was quite amusing).
Also, crashed on me 3 times. Once at the start before I had even really moved. Second time leaving the bird kingdom it froze and played both music from there and the overworld. And Lastly, when I went back to the kingdom to talk to a ghost it crashed instantly.
LoCommotion by RealBadHombre
Nice concept, but it got overwhelming very quickly
Spent a little more time on this than I expected.
Magnet Man by MakSM
We have two hands, man. Let us use them! Bunching all the controls up in a clump was very annoying.
Not sure this fits the jam but the idea was cool. Jumping could probably use some tweaking, maybe reduce the gravity or fall speed.
Meta by Alice
I was hoping for something a little more interactive, but the thought behind it was kinda nice.
Looked great, btw.
MobVergence by RargraveEntertainment
The art was nice, but I found the gameplay a bit underwhelming.
It wasn't immediately clear that I was supposed to click the rows/columns either.
Theme usage was a bit lacking.
MOTHERSEA by mimusic
Nice sprites and effects, the game looked great.
I didn't even realise I could press E to switch to the fish until the end of the game haha.
The squid was a lot of fun though, but maybe a bit slow, it's attack was great and worked well.
Shame there wasn't more. More levels or more creatures to play as.
Nom Nom Chameleon by JackTurbo, Amy
Ok, this was adorable.
This was a great use of theme and a very unique entry.
The art was great, and I loved the blur effect.
The "mmm!" sound really made it too.
My only suggestions may be to include moving targets and maybe the caterpillars cocoon if you take too long.
Palette Swapper by IcyPenguin_
Nice concept but still needs a lot of work.
I like how the different colours had unique abilities, but only having the ability for a short while was annoying, as was having to wait for it to wear off naturally.
Not sure what the two boxes up the top were for, you can only hold one colour...
Controls on keyboard could use some work, I found it awkward to use the arrow keys to move, right shift to use a colour and space to use an ability.
Just noticed your devlog say you started work on this like a year ago... That's not how a game jam works, man...
Potatoes of DOOOOOOM by Lukan
Controls were awful and it crashed twice on me. Was already turned off by the mention of potatoes and dadio...
Reunion by lolslayer
Cool to see a 3D game in the jam.
Unfortunately it was a bit boring and I didn't really feel the theme at all.
Reverse Asteroids! by Dwojityv
Fun asteroids clone! I have always wanted to play as the star of the game, it is called *Asteroids* after all...
Pretty well made, though the flight could use a little tweaking to make it feel more Asteroidsey, but still great.
Subtracting my score when I shoot! Ouch!
Shootin Your Goo by Powerdrive
I liked the idea, even though I don't think it was a good use of theme.
Sadly the game crashed on the second level every time I tried.
Simon's Escape by Purple Games Studios
The customisation and player animations were great.
The platforming was boring and frustrating at the same time.
No use of theme.
Spacial Convergence by Ralucipe
Nice use of theme, interesting idea.
I thought this was made pretty well, so I don't have many criticisms.
I think I'd like a little smoother movement, but that's just me.
I thought your background effect was nicely done, but you should look into particle effects, they are quite handy.
Starlight Convergence by FrostyCat
This was a beautiful game and a simple but interesting idea.
Too bad I can't draw circles to save my life with a mouse. That made things very frustrating.
This would be a great tablet game.
Tech Jack by Bingdom, KrotoR
Great concept. The sprites, backgrounds, menu and effects were all nicely done.
The system itself was pretty neat, and I like how the projectiles changed to reflect that.
The shooting itself felt a bit bland, even the rapid fire didn't feel fast enough.
The fast enemies are a bit overpowered, on the fourth stage, I would get stuck in a loop of having several walking inside me without a way to repel them.
The enemies that stun you, their projectile had a large vertical range which kept catching me off guard too.
Terestria by 2DKnights
I dug the idea, could be a fun little puzzle game if you were able to work on it a bit more.
Platforming could use a bit of tweaking but it was mostly pretty good.
Not sure how this works with the theme. If it's just the four dudes hanging out then that's a bit weak, but better than nothing.
Got a very Final Fantasy vibe from the setting and the sprites.
The music was very pleasant but felt out of place with the lo fi sprites, not sure if you made that since you have no credits listed.
The Brawler by UnknownDevil666
Button mashy!
Not really a good use of theme, despite your use of the word several times in your afterword
I completely forgot about the dash, didn't use it once. Realised mashing punch and kick very easily takes care of everyone, even the boss.
The Converging by Reign, YCCCM7, Shwee
Enemies converging is a bit weak, but a solid tower defence game.
Probably could do with a bit of balance but I think this is well made.
The wave didn't say anything though.
TW0 by CardinalCoder64
It started off very cute with that intro but was a bit of a disappointment.
Not sure I'm seeing the theme in there anywhere.
The main mechanic was boring and annoying, this was doubled by the rigid movement and speed difference.
It may have been more interesting if you influenced more than just if the little guy moves or not.
The levels were a bit difficult and made more annoying by the fact that the little cube was so needy always needing to be touched every two seconds or it dies.
And it's generally not recommended to use show_message() in your games.
Untitled by Master Maker
Doesn't seem to be playable. Couldn't get my guy to move, killed by slime and then nothing.
Untitled by notcreativeEnuf4_1
The sprite looked like it would have been nice and well animated if you finished it.
This looks like you started but didn't work on it.
Worlds in Collision by trg601, moon489
I struggled a bit with the controls at first, confusing the buttons in the heat of the moment (mostly my fault, not yours).
I quit after a few tries due to some seemingly unfair situations. Rows of guys and I can't shoot fast enough to kill them...
The art was nice.
You should probably credit the creator of the music too...
Yum! by Mahdarah
I don't think this incorporated the theme at all.
I think I liked what you were trying to do but after several attempts I still didn't understand it enough to want to keep playing.
The eating seemed inconsistent, sometimes they would eat and other times they wouldn't?
Currency coming in at a slow steady rate and expensive spawns means a lot of sitting around watching the game...
The music was not the best, but at least it was there.
Zombie Convergence by NickKall
Was that 3D? I liked the style.
Use of theme was a bit weak but becomes much clearer right before you die, hehe.
Gameplay was a bit slow and boring.
Careful with your sound effects, at one point all I could hear was a loud bassy distortion.
Zombie's Party by Yotzer
Simple tower defense is nice, but it needs something else to keep it interesting.
No use of theme as far as I can see either.
Also, you really need a readme or some credits somewhere so you can credit the zombie artist and I'm assuming the music too.
