GameMaker Does GameMaker have any support for API's?

So I've been using GameMaker for years now for games, and for the first time I've come across a situation where I could integrate say, Google Maps API's to calculate the real-world distance between two points. What I was wondering was if Studio had any support for such API's.

I kinda doubt it, but I figured I'd check here (no luck on google) before I scrapped the idea.

You can always write your own code though. I recall there have been people who have brought in google maps data into their GM projects.
