I do have one recommendation: Do not allow the player to exit the room from the top or bottom, try setting some invisible walls on those ends, and I found the background to be a little distracting, but other than that the graphics are great, the controls are tight and the overall game is going in a great direction.

I'm at work so those websites are block, but screenshots would be nice.
Is this just a Space Defenders clone?

It is not a clone. I am trying to get a game out (I have a bad habit of starting many projects and not finishing them). I will try to upload some screenshots soon.
