This looks great! Did you build this by yourself or with a team?

Hmmm... not to be a jerkwad but the game's physics are totally equal to a platformer engine for Construct 2, almost if it was copied from there into GMS2, since the same engine isn't avaiable for the latter as far as i know.

I also would never buy a game where almost every asset are pre-made. All of this is unconvincing at best.

Thanks for your comments.

This game isn't copy from Construct 2. I bought the assets that equals Construct 2 from this site:
https://gameartpartners.com/downloads/super-pixel-platformer-set/

Unity store has too: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/2d/environments/super-platformer-assets-42013

I made this game with Game Maker 1.4

Finally, I developed the most part of game by myself Game.png

I actually thought it was using the platformer engine by Rupeck: https://marketplace.yoyogames.com/assets/1707/platformer-engine as it's very similar.
Rupeck made Caveblazers which also uses his engine (or a modified version of): http://www.rupeck.com/caveblazers

Good job anyway OP, hope it does well for you!

You are right, but I used part of engine by Rupeck, but not is this engine. I used another engine by Rubpeck, that not avaible more, and I had to change the most part of code this engine for my game. This engine reduced my time for developed my game.

Bought it, it's a very charming little game :)

I would like to list a couple of things that could be improved though:
  • Penumbra mode is on by default, maybe it shouldn't be on for playing the first time?
  • The timer killed me while I was exploring, damaging my experience. It was counting up and I didn't realize it would kill me. Disabled it.
  • Couldn't tell that spikes were spikes at first, and kept on accidentally walking over them, not realizing I was taking damage ( Disabling Penumbra mode helped a lot )
  • Typo in the intro? ( "disappeared" instead of "disappear" )
  • Replace "Made with Game Maker" with your own logo or something, make it yours :)
  • Pressing "Down" on the control stick doesn't read signs, of course down on the dpad does, however. ( This is using an xbox 360 controller )
  • In the shop, I get stuck in the item buying dialog by naturally pressing the A button and attempting to buy it over and over. Maybe make up the buy button?
  • Make the door entering button consistent? ( For shop it's A, when leaving a dungeon though it's Up )
The "Feel" of the game seems to point towards collecting everything in each room and getting three stars, but the philosophy of the designer really seems to push ramping up the difficulty by adding timer, darkness, etc.

There's nothing wrong with this, but out of the box it seems conflicted. I do really love this though if boxed right. At the start it's basically just an explore em up, but that final star requires the player to really push themselves and play based on your vision.

The best part is that you can do this at your leisure on a level by level basis, making it a far less intimating task.

Bravo dude, keep up the good work!
