We have a forum game10,000 characters is too few??? What kind of post are you making?
Also, 10 000 characters? I'd feel a bit restricted with 10 000 words.
Can't it be, like, a million characters or something?

That's not possible unless it's the latest post. What if I want to add something to the OP?If you need more than 10,000 characters then double-post.
Hopefully forum members and staff will recogise it for what it is and not sanction the post as a bump within their silly 48 hour window.
Isn't it that any code that you put into your post counts towards the total number of characters in the post as well as just any general text you are entering? If it is, then I could see that as a problem for people who want to show complex scripts/code they have a problem with. Not sure if this is the case, but pretty sure that I saw someone say that when it was pointed out that they had missed a couple of closing } in their code. Turns out they had been trimming down the code so that it would fit into the 10,000 character limit and had accidentally removed those } by mistake.10,000 characters is too few??? It's a pretty rare event where one has a post approaching but is less slightly less than 10,000 charactersThat's not possible unless it's the latest post. What if I want to add something to the OP?
[INDENT] Indent within code
Lol, opened the picture and then tried to figure out how to close it...Minor styling suggestion: It would be nice if the "insert code" dialog's text area is monospaced and wider.

...which is kinda pointless.Once your birthday has been entered, it cannot be changed. Please contact an administrator if it is incorrect.
Has worked fine over here since day one. Loads up quickly and perfect both on a newer Android device and a nearly ten year old PC running Chrome.Forum lag - it's the elephant in the room, but I'll say it.
Since yesterday there is a bunch of forum lag. Someone is either DDOSing the forums or this forum uses the same software as Facebook. In Facebook it takes 5 minutes to load and type a message. It's not my computer, i restarted it and still no dice, other websites load just fine.
Why is contacting the people who can rectify the situation pointless?Probably been mentioned on Nocturne's profile, but members can't change their birthdate currently. It says:
...which is kinda pointless.
Contacting an administrator for that is not pointess. Not allowing members to change it themselves is.Why is contacting the people who can rectify the situation pointless?
Ah, yes, now I understand what you mean.Contacting an administrator for that is not pointess. Not allowing members to change it themselves is.
Hover over your username in the upper right corner until the dropdown menu appears. Select the "Your Content" option. Does this accomplish your goal, or did I misunderstand something? (Also, I'm at a loss on your alerts problem. It seems to work fine for me, but I suppose I could've not noticed it skipping an alert or something, and day one or so, I ticked the option to auto-watch threads to which I reply...)Is there not a View Topics I Contributed to.Like on the old forum?

There's a prompt to expand a quote fully? I hadn't even noticed that xDThe prompt to expand a quote fully.
That sounds more like a forum software issue and not something I can solve... I'll search the xenforo support forums and see what I can find.New problem!
Spoilers are buggy. When writing a post with spoilers I've noticed that if you click 'more options' they get permanently and apparently irreversibly messed up a bunch. If you go into bbcode and edit around *there* to try to fix it, it just reverses itself.
I'm not going to do that, sorry. All the moderation tools are inserted beside the report button and ir would mean moving them, which is a bigger task than I want to undertake for something that you'll get used to anyway with time - Warn and Ban are right beside report, and I don't think I want a sudden rash of banned users because of mod mistakes!Anyways, it's a minor gripe, but I always expect the Comment button on people's profiles to be under said comment, and keep nearly hitting Report by accident. It'd be nice if the Report and Comment buttons were switched around.
Y'know looking at some of the posts people are creating, maybe you should lower it back down to 10,000.Okay, so I've upped the limit to 20,000 for now, as that seems more than reasonable... if you need to post huge blocks of code (for example) there are places like PasteBin which you can use too, so I think this should be high enough. I've also made a few other changes:
I use to be able to search about a problem with GML coding I was having on google.com and results would show from the old forum, but when I do it now no results come from this forum or the old one. Do you know why? It was a really easy way to find answers to problems I was having.
Nope that is utterly broken as I stated numerous times (my posts deleted before the new forum went live). You can't google search the old forum anymore. which ultimately made the whole process of achieving the site useless. the only result you get are from content in user profiles.Have you done a site check? append "site:gmc.yoyogames.com" to the end of your search...
Perhaps it has something to do with the extreme level of vitriolic hatred and ridicule, and even threats of legal action, flung at YoYoGames after the GMC was hacked.I don't understand the extreme paranoia being played here unless YoYoGames is planning to link the forums with the actual purchasing information for Game Maker Studio 2. I know that nobody is planning to loosen this, all I'm asking for is for somebody to explain to me what is on this forum that needs a higher grade of protection than any of my other accounts on any of the other sites I have much looser security on.
Welcome to the anonymous public. Everybody deals with it. Most people don't deal with it by enforcing it's members to use the DaVinci code to encrypt their files though, you know, since the old GMC was hacked from the system side and not some guy visiting Mystic Meg and just guessing thousands of weak passwords.Perhaps it has something to do with the extreme level of vitriolic hatred and ridicule, and even threats of legal action, flung at YoYoGames after the GMC was hacked.
Just a guess...
It seems like it would make more sense to make the site more secure rather than force people to use "stronger" passwords, but that's just my opinion...Perhaps it has something to do with the extreme level of vitriolic hatred and ridicule, and even threats of legal action, flung at YoYoGames after the GMC was hacked.

I'm with you on this... some of the more pressing concerns were about the forum firmware, or even things having to do with the server machine itself; enforcing stricter passwords just wouldn't help with that.It seems like it would make more sense to make the site more secure rather than force people to use "stronger" passwords, but that's just my opinion...
It's exactly the opposite actually. It's not going to change no matter how much one or two users dislike it.
No. I scanned the topic for a reason before I posted and all you've done is shut down these complaints twice without revealing any kind of reason behind it. As you can see from the replies below my post, even one of your own moderators seemed confused about who actually pulled that decision through. Your only response I could find so far is "this isn't negotiable" which is about as helpful as you just ignoring the concerns entirely. Can we stop with the crap about passwords? This has been explained and won't change. Playtech made it a condition for having the forums open. You want less restrictions? Then fine, but you won't have a GMC then... It's not going to change no matter how much one or two users dislike it.
Problem is Nocturne has too much inside info and a large global spread on the discussion and some of it, in the case of the security reasons behind the password, it has been mentioned on the forum a few times. The reason is PlayTech security people making the decision and so the forum admins can't override that decision. So you can call people zelots all you want, the decision is made and not over-turnable.No. I scanned the topic for a reason before I posted and all you've done is shut down these complaints twice without revealing any kind of reason behind it. I agree that this is crap, but if you want us to swallow crap you've got to tell us why we're swallowing crap. I'm not asking you to change this feature, you've made it clear that you have no intention to change this feature, I want to know why the feature was changed in the first place. My biggest concern here is that plans are in motion to merge our accounts on the forum with our purchasing information or keys for Studio 2. You've told us this was a condition from Playtech but is there anything else you can tell us about this decision? Did they give any reason behind this condition that you can elaborate for us?
Again, my biggest concern here is that this doesn't seem like the kind of user end security I'd expect to see on a site with no real information on it from the user side. So if there is any other information you can give us here then I would greatly appreciate that. If you tell me that this entire decision is just because the CEO of Playtech is a security nutcase warding off aliens with his tinfoil hat then I will accept that but this is a legitimate customer concern and as a customer I would appreciate it if that concern got a legitimate response that wasn't a "shut up".
I quoted your post, clicked your image, and clicked the "Image" button, hit Backspace once, and submitted. Presto, it works. I ..... don't see the problem? When you upload a gif to imgur, it actually turns into a gifv, which can't be played here as an image. Could we possibly have imgur gifvs be embedded as normal gifs instead of? I don't know if this is an issue so much as a request, since again, gifvs aren't technically images.
